Afon Lime ….A complete transformation We have had the pleasure of having Jack and Ben working on our house for the past 3 weeks lime pointing the house and restoring the original brick window recesses to frame our soon to be installed new sash windows Their skill and craftsmanship has shown in all they have done and there dedication to completing everything to such high standards is a visual tribute to their hard work They have been a joy to have at our home and both posses a fantastic knowledge of their craft which helped us to make the decision to reveal the doorway in the hall to frame our soon to be installed new door and this looks fantastic (an addition to the original work which they were able to do whilst on site) Looking forward to removing the hessian and seeing the full transformation (Mason, our viszla is missing his morning fuss) They have made our house look better than we ever imagined and I would recommend Afon Lime to anyone who wants to put the original character back into their home

Cannot speak highly enough of this company! We decided to have the old cement render removed from our 1870s stone built house and have it replaced with lime render. We approached Jack of Afon Lime for a quote and we were immediately impressed with his professional attitude and knowledge so we decided to ask him to do the work. We made the right choice. Jack and his colleague Ben have been superb throughout. Really hard workers, skilful, respectful of our property, excellent communication throughout the job, so we always felt informed about what was happening. We changed our minds a couple of times along the way about exactly what we wanted to have done and the changes were accommodated without a murmur - nothing seems to have been too much trouble. The work is now nearing completion and we are so pleased with it! The house looks great and we've also noticed it's warmer inside which we assume is due to the interior of the walls not being damp anymore, as the lime render is allowing them to breathe. Our experience with Jack and Ben from Afon Lime has been excellent. Our house was in need of rendering and we had been advised to consider lime render to replace the concrete render given the age of the house. We spoke to a couple of companies but Afon Lime stood out with a prompt visit and clear, pragmatic advice. It was a long process and they explained each stage so that we fully understood what they were doing and why. They were meticulous in their attention to detail and obviously took pride in their work. They were happy to answer any questions we asked - and there were many as it was a learning curve for us. It became apparent that some remedial building work was necessary once the original render was removed but due to a good working relationship with another company with the relevant expertise, the whole process was fairly seamless. We got to know them well over the months, they were extremely hardworking and hardly seemed to stop during the day save for the odd coffee and plenty of chocolate biscuits! We love how the house looks now and we've received lots of compliments. Thank you Jack and Ben, we've learned so much from your knowledge, dedication and respect for older properties.

It was by chance that I found Jack @ Afon Lime after driving past his van. I am so pleased that I did as the lime repointing on my home was long overdue. It is difficult to find someone with the skills to do this sort of work properly and I had been searching for a long time. The results exceeded my expectation by far and the job looks incredible. We recently had Jack to rake out and point our stone fronted house with lime based mortar, replacing the cement pointing. Jack is very professional and passionate about his work. We engaged Afon Lime to render our 400-year-old farmhouse, and they did a fantastic job. They removed the old concrete render and applied lime harling to the three weather-facing sides. During the process, some unexpected masonry issues cropped up, but Jack and the team were patient while we got those sorted. We’re really excited for Spring when we’ll paint the exterior in breathable paint to bring back the traditional Gower Red! The team also lime plastered several interior walls for us, including pointing an old doorway to create a stunning feature. We’re so pleased with how it all turned out. In fact, we’re even rethinking the layout of one room just so the lime plaster can be fully appreciated and not hidden by furniture. Jack and his team are clearly passionate about old buildings and doing the job right. Their care and attention to detail really show in the results.

Project involved raking out of all four sides of my old cottage. Two weather facing sides were re-pointed and harled with lime to leave a traditional finish. Two less exposed sides were taken back to exposed stone and repointed. All finished in a pink/red limewash. Afon lime were reliable and professional throughout. Flexible and willing to discuss the way forward as the project evolved. No shortcuts taken along the way, work was performed to a high standard. Looking forward to a leak free winter.
