What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

In Chaddesden, this plastering and restoration specialist concentrates on older and listed buildings, and the accounts left by customers return repeatedly to the depth of knowledge the team brings to traditional materials. Several reviewers describe how Thomas assesses a job and explains why a breathable lime mortar mix suits an old property better than cement, preventing trapped moisture, sweating and damp.

The pattern of work is consistent: failed cement render is removed, brickwork or stone consolidated, lintels and decorative window headers replaced or repointed, insulation blocks installed, and a fresh lime or monocouche finish applied. Named team members such as Joe, Colin, Brendan, Reece, Daniel, Michael, Adam and Quinn come up for their punctuality, tidiness and courtesy, with customers noting how well the site was protected while mortar set and how carefully matched bricks and finishes were sourced.

Elizabethan, seventeenth-century oak-framed and Grade II listed homes feature in these accounts, and the same themes recur: quick communication during and after the job, careful quality control at every stage, and a finish that improves warmth in winter and coolness in summer. Consent work for listed properties is also mentioned as part of the service. The closing note from one project is the stone restoration itself, where the finished appearance matched the vision the owners had for the house.

We are absolutely delighted with the results of our stone restoration project. The transformation has exceeded our expectations, and we couldn't be happier with how it looks. Joe, Adam and Quinn were fantastic from start to finish—hard-working, professional, and genuinely committed to achieving the vision we had for our home. They took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and worked tirelessly to bring it to life. Their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and dedication to delivering a high-quality finish were outstanding. They worked with us every step of the way to achieve our end goal, and the results speak for themselves. After many years of a very tired looking render finish, the work that has gone into exposing the old stone work has completely transformed the appearance of the property, adding so much character and charm. We would highly recommend Joe, Adam and Quinn to anyone considering similar work. A first-class service, a great team, and a stunning result. Thank you all for your hard work—we couldn't be happier.

We live in an old Grade 2 listed building and we know that re-doing the rendering would have to be done properly. When Thomas came to assess the job it was clear he is very knowledgeable about all things “render” and Grade 2 listed buildings. It was a big job, (well, it felt that way to us!) but the team were so friendly and they obviously knew what they were doing. Because it’s such an old house there were a lot of repairs to do before the new render could be applied but they did them all really efficiently. The house had the proper lime render put on and the end result is fantastic. It is what this old house really deserves and will keep it “healthy” for many years to come! Would definitely recommend this company.

This is my team - when you need the experts, you need people you can trust and Tom, Colin and Brendan are fantastic! A beautiful job, well done! Our home is Elizabethan, built in 1560 and lime rendered. We had a goal: to painstakingly remove the cement render that idiots applied in the 70s to bring her back to her natural splendour and Tom’s team achieved the goal magnificently - thank you thank you!!

Joe, Michael and Quinn did a great job tidying up and repointing our 1700s siltstone wall with lime mortar. They did a great job ensuring it was protected adequately while the mortar set, we also got them back to repair a lintel arch above a window and replace some blown bricks - Joe and his team sourced an exact match for the bricks so that you can't tell the difference...lovely job! They were punctual, tidy and courteous and we would recommend them. THANKS!

Great, friendly service. Knowledgeable/skilled team. They repointed the front of our house after highlighting that an incorrect method had been done in the past. They changed the mortar to a traditional method that matches what would have been done originally. This allowed the bricks to breath - We had problems with damp and bricks blowing. The team were polite, treated our house and our neighbours with respect which included covering their windows and even wheelie bins to help reduce the inconvenience of dust covering everything. They returned a few times to ensure it was drying correctly and to check we were happy. A huge thank you to the whole team including Joe, Michael and Adam. We will be using them again for brick work in the future!

Once again, another fantastic experience! I have known and have worked closely with The Reputable Rendering team for some time now and I have found the service exemplary. The team is always helpful with new enquiries and very prompt with solutions and recommendations for projects. I have no doubt if I need anything else, the team will be more than happy to assist on further projects. Thank you.

Very happy with the rendering works carried out for us by Tom and the team. He was very knowledgeable and gave us confidence that we were choosing the right materials for the property. Dan who carried out the work was great and nothing was too much trouble for him.
