Johnstone's Decorating Centre

Johnstone's Decorating Centre operates under the Johnstone's Trade brand, which has been present in the UK market since 1890. Johnstone's Trade is part of the PPG portfolio of brands, a company founded in 1883 as Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Coventry site supplies wallpaper and specialist finishes, alongside trade paints, woodcare, performance coatings, external wall insulation, and render systems.

Paint and decorating supplies in Coventry attract consistent praise for the depth of knowledge behind the counter and the readiness of staff to go beyond a routine sale. Several customers describe assistance that stretched to checking past transaction records to match paints bought years earlier, among them for a theatre production, while others highlight guidance on product choice that fitted the scale of the work and reduced the cost. Named members of staff including Mohamed, Muhammad and Richard are singled out for friendly, patient service, particularly towards newcomers to decorating or those working on a freshly plastered room.

A number of reviews mention sensible prices, well-stocked shelves and a welcoming atmosphere that does not feel intimidating to amateur DIYers. The range takes in paints and ancillaries alongside tools, ladders, protective clothing and safety equipment, so a single visit frequently covers an entire project. Straightforward access, with parking available on site, is another recurring point. The prevailing theme is knowledgeable, unhurried help that serves trade and household customers alike, with the paint itself and the guidance on selecting it completing the job.
