Oxford Decor

Billy is clearly skilled at what he does and the end results were good, but the communication and overall customer experience could have been handled better. We hired Billy to restore some old door frames in our house. After starting the work, he explained that some of the frames were in worse condition than initially visible and would therefore require more prep work, time and cost. We understood this, but when we asked for a revised estimate, we were told he couldn't give one until more frames had been assessed. Which is understandable to some degree, but we were cautious about continuing to strip additional frames without any clarity on the likely final cost. So instead we asked for an estimate just for the frames already started, and the revised figure ended up being double the original quote despite covering only 5 of the 8 frames. This felt difficult to reconcile, particularly as the day-to-day progress seemed quite slow. What would have improved the experience significantly was more direct communication during the job itself. Most updates came by text or email after Billy had left the house each day, rather than face-to-face discussions to walk us through he was finding and doing. While we appreciate the importance of documenting things in writing, this created a slightly awkward atmosphere and sometimes left us unclear on what he was or wasn't doing. Finally, it would have made a big difference if Billy had checked in with us properly at the end of the project to confirm the work was complete and that we were happy with the result, rather than simply packing up and leaving. Given the scale and cost of the job, it felt like a disappointing way for things to end.

Very polite, personable and tidy - and most importantly, very happy with the results.

Billy did an outstanding job painting and decorating my home. From the initial quote to the final walkthrough, communication was clear and professional. They arrived on time every day, protected all my furniture, and delivered a high-quality finish. Highly recommended.

We have worked with Billy at Oxford Decor for over 5 years. During that time he has completed work inside and outside our property to a high standard. He is thoroughly professional, has a very pleasant nature and is always clean and tidy. Billy takes a great deal of pride in his work and we would recommend his decorating services to prospective customers.

We asked Billy to decorate a 2-bedroomed apartment in north Oxford [walls, ceilings and all woodwork, which included a very large bookshelf]. The work started on time, finished on time and the invoice was on budget. Billy's attention to detail and the quality of the finish is superb - we recommend him without hesitation.

Excellent accomplishment in decorating my 2 bedroom flat. I am highly impressed with the quality of work done by Billy at Oxford Decor in painting my flat! From the start of the project until the end, Billy was always punctual, professional, and attentive to my requirements. He showed great attention to detail, was courteous and respectful, took good care of my belongings and all the work areas were left clean at the end of each day. The paintwork is amazing and the rooms look fabulous! I can tell how Billy put his heart and soul into the project to ensure each wall and corner was perfectly painted. In addition, the whole process was very smooth from beginning to end, the communication was clear and concise, and the work was completed within the agreed timeframe. I am more than happy with the outcome, and I highly recommend Billy at Oxford Decor. Thank you!

I thought I could remove some wallpaper myself, but got into trouble when it was very stubborn and it seemed I was damaging my walls. I contacted Oxford Decor and Billy came out within a few days, assured me he could remove the wallpaper, repair the walls, and paint. He completed the job promptly and to a very high standard, and he was great to work with. I recommend him very highly.
