Painting and decorating, run by Moin, covers interior painting jobs across Manchester, from single front doors and feature walls to full houses repainted within a few days. Many reviewers, including landlords using Moin repeatedly across several rental properties, praise his speed, reasonable pricing and willingness to return for free touch-ups after other work such as new carpets. Customers also mention him sourcing paint in requested colours and arranging a skimmer when needed. Set against this, a recurring theme among a minority of reviewers describes poor preparation on more technical jobs, including paint applied without sanding, filling or primer, uneven colour lines, and difficulty getting a response once concerns were raised. As a painter and decorator in Manchester, Painting and decorating holds a 4.8-star average from 150 Google reviews.

Really happy with the work Hard working and finished his work on time He is nice to speak to and is always respect Will happy to refer him
Moin did a wonderful job with our front door! He not only helped us select the perfect paint color but was also incredibly patient throughout the process, especially considering the rough and rainy weather. We are very pleased with how the door looks now—highly recommend!
Really nice work throughout my house , came on time finished work only 3 days Excellent result, highly recommended 👏
We hired Moin during a house renovation to carry out several painting jobs for an agreed price of £1900. Payment was made in advance. What follows is a factual account of the work carried out and the outcome. 1 – Paint the landing With a perfect base (newly plastered walls, new ceiling and new coving), the painting here was acceptable. No issues. Unfortunately, this was the only part of the work that went smoothly. 2 – Paint spare bedroom, two tone (see images) This room was also fully replastered and provided a solid base. However, when any technical work was required, problems became clear. We asked for a horizontal line where the paint changed from one colour to another. The line was noticeably off level and looked very poor. No laser level appeared to have been used. We were told this was due to the ceiling not being straight, but regardless, a straight line is what was agreed and expected. Images attached show how far off it was when checked with a laser level. We had to redo this work ourselves. 3 – Paint panelling and walls in the living room (images attached) After giving the benefit of the doubt, Moin was allowed to continue into the next room. The issues here were not about paint application, but preparation and finish. There was effectively no prep work carried out. The result was unacceptable: Walls painted with holes left visible Panelling with large gaps and rough filler painted over Peeling wallpaper painted over Windowsill painted green without discussion and without sanding or cleaning No primer used on new wood panelling Edging left unfinished 4 – Paint original panelling in the hallway (images attached) This was the most disappointing part. We have original hallway panelling that we spent weeks carefully stripping back after work. We planned to sand and fill it ourselves, but before starting, Moin advised us not to as he said he would handle all preparation. That preparation did not happen. Despite what was agreed: No sanding or filling was done No primer was used Emulsion was painted directly onto the wood Paint was applied over splinters, holes, dirt and dust A roller was used rather than a brush The result has undone a huge amount of time and effort and has left the panelling in worse condition than before. After we stopped the work, communication stopped and attempts to resolve the situation have gone unanswered. If you need very basic painting on a perfect surface, this may be suitable. For anything requiring preparation, care, or attention to detail, I would not recommend using Moin.
Moin did 4 rooms painted very high standard work , we definitely use them again highly recommend thanks Moin Also he arranged skimmer for us highly professional
Terrible unprofessional finish to the work. Speed over attention to detail. Very expensive for this level of work. This is not a skilled tradesman for decorating in people’s homes. Wallpaper was removed and redone by ourselves as was the touch ups required for the gloss work. £750 pound for a hall stairs and landing and I wish I never paid him. Please save yourself the headache and stress and do NOT book this man.
