RDS PAINTING & DECORATING

RDS Painting and Decorating Specialists was established in 2003. The business is a Trading Standards approved business and a registered member of Checkatrade. Its operatives are fully qualified and fully insured. It uses Festool dust free sanding and dust extraction. It serves Southampton, Winchester, the New Forest, and the wider Hampshire area.

Its clients include domestic and commercial sectors, with examples such as Sainsbury's, Little Brook Retirement Home, Whitewoods Letting Agencies, Leaders Letting Agencies and Pearsons Estate Agencies. The business specialises in hand-painted kitchens and furniture. It offers interior and exterior painting, wallpapering, and colour scheme recommendations.

Interior decorating across homes in Southampton forms the core of the work described by those who have hired Richard, with rooms such as lounges, halls, staircases, bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens all featuring in accounts, alongside exterior painting of walls and woodwork and the repainting of an Edwardian property. A strong pattern in the feedback is punctuality and dependability: customers say he arrives when he promises and finishes what has been agreed. Careful preparation before the paint goes on is mentioned just as regularly, including attention to cracked plaster and to damp and water marks, treated with the appropriate products, and the use of good-quality paints.

Cleanliness during and after the job, straightforward communication from the initial quote to completion, and advice about what is and is not achievable all recur. One household chose him partly on price and on his manner compared with other providers, and a kitchen project saw tired timber units brought back to life instead of being thrown out, with specialist contractors fitting new worktops. Several clients have returned over many years for further internal and external work, and one has already booked him for another bedroom.
