Johnstone's Decorating Centre operates in Aberdeen. The company was founded in 1883 as Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. PPG is a global supplier of paints, coatings, optical products, and specialty materials.

Johnstone's Trade has had a presence in the market since 1890. Johnstone's Trade specialises in listening to its market to meet the needs of professional decorators and specifiers. Johnstone's Trade offers trade paints, woodcare, performance coatings, external wall insulation and render systems. Johnstone's Decorating Centre is part of the PPG portfolio of brands.

Johnstone's Decorating Centre serves Aberdeen from the Altens area as a paint shop and decorating supplier, and the feedback gathered from customers consistently highlights the helpfulness and knowledge of the team. Several reviewers describe staff as friendly and approachable, with one noting that they were matched to the correct paint shade for kitchen units, describing the result as spot on. A detail many reviews return to is the honest advice given rather than a push towards the most expensive products; customers appreciate being asked about the job at hand and then guided towards suitable options.

The range of goods available covers painting supplies, tools, ladders, protective clothing and safety equipment, alongside work clothes and home improvement items, which supports both trade and domestic projects. Several accounts note the reasonable trade prices and the pleasure of supporting a smaller business, while the overall tone of the comments reflects satisfaction with both the products and the service received. The staff's willingness to listen and recommend appropriately is the thread running through the accounts, making the shop a practical resource for decorating tasks in the local area.
