STEVEN WOOD DECORATORS

Steven Wood Decorators is a painting and decorating company based in Swindon. The business was established over 32 years ago and was founded in the 1980s by Steven Wood, who has been a painter and decorator for over 40 years. Steven and his team are all qualified, and the company runs an on-going apprenticeship scheme with Swindon College. It specialises in decorative restoration to period and heritage buildings, with wall coverings and broken colour work of particular interest.

The company works in a 50 mile radius covering Wiltshire, Berkshire, Avon and Oxfordshire. It has provided services on listed and historic buildings in and around the south west of England, including for The Land-mark Trust. All employees are insured and hold a skilled CSCS certificate. The company uses breathable paints and products where possible, and traditional clay based paints where possible. Services include all aspects of decorating for private homes (modern and period) and commercial properties and site work.

A complex patterned wallpaper was required for a single wall above a staircase, a small but technically tricky task. Steven Wood Decorators responded when another specialist in the Marlborough area did not reply, and the customer found the decorator professional and easy to talk to. The intricate pattern was hung neatly across the awkward space, with the finished work described as flawless and delivered at a competitive price.

Wallpaper installation and interior decorating are the services involved, and the account highlights both the standard of the finish and the fairness of the cost. Contact and arrangements were straightforward, and the customer expressed complete satisfaction with the result and a clear willingness to recommend the decorator for similar interior projects.
